Corey LaJoie will return to Go Fas Racing for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season to drive the No. 32 Ford.
LaJoie, who is coming off his first full season with the team, made the announcement on MRN’s Sunday Money podcast, which he co-hosts with Daryl Motte and Lauren Fox.
“I’m super excited to go back,” said LaJoie, who signed a one-year deal. “I’m concentrated fully on 2020 with Go Fas. We are trying to find a crew chief right now.”
Veteran crew chief Randy Cox led the No. 32 team last season.
“The grind just kind of got to him and his kids are getting a little older,” LaJoie said. “I wish all the best to him. He’s been a good friend of mine.”
LaJoie finished his first year with the team with two top 10s and placed 29th in the final standings. He posted a 25.9 average finish through-out the campaign to mark the best average finish by a driver for the team in a full season.
In 2020, Go Fas Racing will enter into a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing. The team will be provided with chassis, data and technical support for the No. 32 Ford.
“We’ve got some Stewart-Haas cars coming into the shop today,” LaJoie said. “I’m going to go over there and check those out today before I head down south to Pensacola (Fla.) for the Snowball Derby.”
Schluter Systems, Keen Parts, Superior Logistics and Drydene Performance Products are among the sponsors returning with LaJoie in 2020. Samaritan’s Feet is also planning to be on the car for two races.
