Country star and East Tennessee native Rodney Atkins will be performing a free concert in Gatlinburg on Friday, April 28.
The event will be held in the Shade Tree Parking Lot adjacent to the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road from 6 to 9 p.m.
Before becoming an award winning singer/song-writer Atkins attended Tennessee Tech University. He first hit the charts in 1997 with “In a Heatbeat,” but he didn’t get his first top five hit until “Honesty (Write Me a List)” came out in late 2003.
Now he has risen to country stardom with his most recent hits including, “Take a Backroad,” and “Farmer’s Daughter.”
Born in Knoxville, the singer likes to focus on songs that make him different than the rest.
Expect to hear some of his biggest hits on April 28. For lodging visit www.gatlinburg.com.
