Country star and East Tennessee native Rodney Atkins will be performing a free concert in Gatlinburg on Friday, April 28.
The event will be held in the Shade Tree Parking Lot adjacent to the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road from 6 to 9 p.m.
Before becoming an award winning singer/song-writer Atkins attended Tennessee Tech University. He first hit the charts in 1997 with “In a Heatbeat,” but he didn’t get his first top five hit until “Honesty (Write Me a List)” came out in late 2003.
Now he has risen to country stardom with his most recent hits including, “Take a Backroad,” and “Farmer’s Daughter.”
Born in Knoxville, the singer likes to focus on songs that make him different than the rest.
